LAYOUT IN PROGRESS |
|
Our own layout is finally coming
along after many stops and starts, and revised planning. The layout is small;
8'x10 with a 6' extension. It's main focus is the New Haven Railroad along
the Connecticut shoreline, but we hope to include some urban waterfront
depicting Brooklyn, NY (the extension portion).
We'll post a track
plan soon.... |

| Work on a small
highway bridge has begun, and a stone retaining wall lines the
road to the lighthouse. |
A small bait and
tackle shop along the river... |

 |
|
The stone base still
awaits the lighthouse. Notice the change in water color from the
previous pics below. Blue acrylic paint( Coeruleum) was added to
gloss meduim. Waves still need to be added against the rocks... |
Another view... |

The bait shop,s till
missing some details, signage ( and a couple of rafter tails..). |
Overview...since we added the highway bridge, the town surface
has been raised, so the rock cut will have to extend upwards.

Above represents the first section
of scenery started. Here, the New Haven's mainline
through Connecticut hugs the Long Island Sound. Most of the rock work
still needs some more vegetation growing out of it. To get a seamless
rock cut, all of the rockwork was carved in place. The stone pedestal to
the right is a base for a lighthouse. The stones are hydrocal strips
purchased from New England Brownstone. Above the rock cut will be
a small New England town modeled after Stonington, CT. |
